Hideaway Forward: Action, Growth, No Taxes!

Rather than being content with a “Do Nothing City” approach, I’d like to see Hideaway be a “Try Something City”. We can achieve this by applying for State and Federal Grants, working with our surrounding city officials and local Congressmen to help enhance Hideaway – all by maintaining a NO TAXES position.

Personal Information
• Married 50 years to Debbie
• Attended Texas Tech University, BBA in Management ‘1975.
• Two successful grown children (Laura in Dallas, Lisa in Savannah, GA).
• Four grandchildren (one in Dallas, one at Auburn University, two in Savannah).
• Introduced to Hideaway in 1979 and became a frequent visitor.
• Moved to Hideaway in 2020, thanks in to Covid.
• Enjoy Hideaway Board activities, golf, time with friends and boating.

• Arbitrator for Texas State Comptroller since 2005 hearing property value dispute cases between Property Owners or their consultants and Appraisal Districts across Texas.

• Licensed Real Estate Broker since 2000, licensed agent since 1990.

• Past Board Member of Texas Comptroller’s 15 member Property Tax Administrative Advisory Board (PTAAB)
• Past Member of Hideaway Kiwanis but still volunteer to help with flags and phone directory delivery.

Strengths
• I believe I’m an effective problem solver and listener and at 70 years old I have the time and energy to devote to City Council duties.
• I want to help keep the great Hideaway traditions intact while introducing new ideas.
• I’d love the opportunity to serve Hideaway and give back for all the happiness and joy it has brought Debbie and I.
• I have the time, health and energy to actively participate.
